My Favorite Shoes: Flat but High-Heeled

posted on 23 December 2011

My favorite shoes are actually flat shoes. I do not like pointed heels. If I was to wear a high heel, I would have to learn to walk all from the beginning. But I do prefer heels that are really flat because they do not have any health problems associated with it. It can help you increase your height without giving you any pains or problems. When I wear it, I feel great. And also I prefer sandal like shoes so that your feel is not completely covered. It gives your feet enough air to breathe. It will help you reduce sweat. I also like light weight shoes. It is very comfortable to wear and you feel ease while walking. I like dark colored shoes mainly but I prefer light colored occasionally. I do not like trainers or sports shoes because it looks like you are going for a walk. It’s really difficult to find my right choice of shoes.

The Story of the Black Bag

posted on 14 December 2011

It's the queen of all high fashion handbags around town, for surely when I carry this ultra beautiful, stunning black bag I feel like royalty in town. This glamorous black bag is just the perfect blend of X-factor and ease of use. I can fit just about anything in it, ranging from my petite makeup kit to high tech gagdets like my iPad. And black is my favourite colour too - I have black clutch bags, black satchels, black shoulder bags. About my particular favourite though - the soft shiny leather texture from the outside allows me to clutch it with full affection and care. There are two small but secure pockets on the outside allowing me to readily store my loose change off the counter. While the silky insides have multiple compartments with tiny zip pockets to store precious jewelry items as well as nail varnishes since it has a soft cushion backing protecting the items inside the pocket. The beautiful bold black strap hangs softly on my shoulder or in my hand like a silk cloth.Despite the remarkable beauty that the bag possesses it reminds me of my late grandmother who gave it to me last summer just a few months before she passed away. Now when ever I look at this beautiful bag it reminds me of her love and her beauty. Which is exactly why this is my favourite hand bag.

A Cheap and Cheerful Alaskan Wedding

posted on 28 May 2011

In Alaska, you can be legally married by any Alaskan resident, providing you have an official affidavit from the state indicating the precise date, location, and name of the individual conducting the ceremony. I married my husband on May 1, 1999 in the town of North Pole, Alaska. I awoke that morning to a freak snowstorm and to find I had to drive my fiance to the emergency room because he was unable to move his right arm due to events from the night before. Several hours later, we emerged from the hospital with just enough time to dress, he in his kilt and I in a blue dress from my closet and lovely bridal comb tiara, and we drove to the home of his friend, Brian, who was to marry us that afternoon. The sun had come out by that time and it became a rather warm and beautiful day. Our witnesses accompanied us to the front porch, after a couple rounds of nerve-settling drinks, and we took our vows, he said "I do," and I said "Okay?" With the paperwork signed, we returned to the inside of the house, which was also hosting a 2 keg promotion party and we all celebrated the occasion well into the night. I had to drive home, so I did no more drinking that day (or any day since, for that matter). The whole thing lasted about 5 minutes and only cost us $10 for the copy of our marriage certificate. We always imagined we would have a proper ceremony with our families in attendance perhaps in another 3 years for our 15th wedding anniversary.

Shoes Make My World Go Round!

posted on 21 April 2011

I absolutely love shoes, which is rather funny since I also love being barefoot. But shoes....anything from oscar boots to high heels - I love then all. Shoes can make or break an outfit. My husband would definately agree that I have tons more shoes than I need. I feel you should have every style in several colors! One of my favorite things to is to shop for shoes. Many times I buy several pairs at once it is very rewarding. I love matching my outfits with my shoes. My favorite shoes are sandals because I love that wearing sandals means the weather is nice. I am a sales rep for a very popular company that periodically sells inexpensive but very stylish styles. I enjoy explaining to people where the shoes came from because they are almost always pleasantly surprised to my response. Shoes have even boosted some of my sales. I got my love of shoes from my grandmother she has always been very classy and I always look forward to seeing her new additions. I hope this gives you an insight to one of my passions.

Natural pearls

posted on 8 March 2011

In nature almost any mollusk with a shell can produce some kind of pearl naturally when an irritant becomes trapped in the mollusk’s mantle folds – most of these however could not be classed as gemstones. Nacreous pearls which are the best known commercially available pearls are produced by 2 groups of mollusks – bivalves and clams. A natural pearl is one that forms spontaneously in the wild without any human intervention. Many oysters or pearls would have to be gathered in the wild to find a single pearl and this is why they could fetch such large prices. However cultured pearls are produced in a pearl farm where humans intervene in the production process by introducing the irritant to the mollusk so that a pearl, or even several pearls can be produced by each mussel which has brought the price of pearls down to very reasonable levels so that freshwater pearl jewellery can be bought very easily today.

My Sister's Little Secret Gang Denoted By Pink Bracelet

posted on 14 January 2011

I took notice when two of her friends came round, both wearing the very same pink bracelet - I thought "gee, how sad are these girls - copying each other's fashion statements so closely". I chided my sister regarding her lame fashion statements - and then she said "no, we're not copying each other, it's a sign of our little secret society we have". I joked back: "so where's your treehouse?" - she smiled and said that it was nothing so childish - it was to do with her group at college. They were studying together and the bracelet symoblised a determination to study hard. Whenever they wore the pink bracelet, it meant they were in "study mode" - with it off, they had time off. So basically if you saw a girl wearing the pink bracelet, you knew to leave her alone if you wanted to go out and socialise. Not a bad idea, really - for my sister!
