When Lucy told her parents that she has decided to marry Richard, she knew that not everyone was happy with her decision. I have been leafing through a few old books recently and looking at what it takes to recreate the old English traditional country house style.
One of the secrets appears to ensure that rooms are furnished with authentic, vintage or antique items – and not furnished using reproduction pieces.
Tatty and worn items are even better! Threadbare rugs or faded cushions look great, so long as they are of good quality. Chipped porcelain or china is not so desirable, unless it is of exceptionally fine quality of course! A porcelain dinner service should never be chipped.... or at least those plates should be kept out of sight!
The old English traditional country house style benefits from a liberal use of soft furnishings. Floral prints, heavy lined curtains, richly upholstered furniture and a contrasting array of cushions all add to the country house look. The secret appears to create a warm, comfortable and inviting environment in what were often large, chilly and draughty rooms. There is no substitute for a modern central heating system though.... this is definitely an improvement for the old English Country Homes of today! |

Buying cheap or basic things won’t normally hurt these include personal daily necessity products and services like foods/groceries. On the other hand, buying a new house or an additional car which will really cost unless it is prepared a head of time needs to be well managed.
Moving could cost big especially if you’re moving long distance or international. We, as customers would like to know the exact amount of such things as much as possible so we can then start budgeting or saving money to make the purchase possible.
