Pregnancy: Talk Long and Hard About Every Detail

I found out I was pregnant in the middle of our 5 day drive to our new home. We drove west looking for work, so there we were jobless, pregnant and me craving, onion rings and gravy day and night. So… There I was in the truck stop bathroom staring at a stick with a large dark blue + on it, thinking oh my god. The sheer terror and fear that ran through every inch of my body was electrifying, but at the same time it was paired with the utmost thrill and joy. Can I possibly tell my husband at a time like this? I asked myself over and over again. It took weeks before I could tell him he was so stressed with the rest of our lives. We talked and discussed every option available to us. It was really hard going through those options, I was constantly reminded of the miscarriage we had gone through years before. As emotionally draining as those talks were I’m glad we discussed everything in such detail. I experienced a trouble-free pregnancy - in fact I revelled in it, enjoying the idea of buying maternity briefs etc - it was a really healthy time. Our son is now 14 months he’s so happy, smart, and precious. We moved back east and spoil him every day.
